In Black Ops, does the Jammer hide you from Spy Planes?

Say the enemy put a Spy Plane up, could I just drop a Jammer and remain invisible? Would they be able to see my red dot if they were OUTSIDE of the Jammer's area of effect? Thanks. Oh, also, general Jammer tips would be appreciated as I'd like to start using it. Thanks. :D
